Unix Security Engineer

Job description

We are seeking for experienced Unix/Linux Platform Security Engineer who is willing to work with our client - one of the largest banking and financial institution in the world. Currently we are building the Global Cyber Security Team as client is transferring to the cyber world. As a Unix Security Engineer you will be identifying, developing and deploying global cybersecurity controls across platforms that support the world’s largest financial enterprises.


  • Providing a strategy for integrated security controls across Unix/Linux infrastructure on-premise solutions and in the cloud.
  • Collaborating with various layers of management across cybersecurity and other IT teams to develop solutions that protect the organization.
  • Ensuring compliance to relevant policies and Security Standards across all Unix/Linux systems.
  • Contributing to the platform/infrastructure security processes and projects.
  • Implementing and maintaining an effective engagement model across all regions, global businesses, and global functions.
  • Designing the implementation of service offerings, capability uplifts, and process improvements to protect the bank for a continuously changing threat landscape.


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and being able to clarify complex concepts.
  • Around 4-5 years of experience with configuration management and hardening Unix systems.
  • Knowledge of Unix deployment security, life cycle, and operations practices.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as: PowerShell, Perl, Python, Bash, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
  • Industry qualifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc) will be great advantages.
